FAQs
How Does It Work?
Our Acoustic Wave Therapy, a type of Shockwave Therapy, is designed to gently and effectively rejuvenate your face and body. During each session, a specialised device emits safe, high-intensity pulses of acoustic energy into targeted areas. These waves of energy work beneath the surface, offering a multitude of benefits:
- Stimulating Collagen Formation: This process strengthens connective tissue, making your skin firmer and even assisting in breaking down scar tissue.
- Reducing Fat: By breaking down the connective fibrous walls that can hold stubborn fat and toxins under the skin, our therapy helps in fat reduction.
- Increasing Blood Flow: Enhanced blood circulation ensures that oxygen and vital nutrients reach the targeted area, particularly effective in combating cellulite.
- Improving Lymphatic Drainage: This assists in flushing out broken-down fat and toxins from your body.
How Soon Can You See Results?
Many patients notice visible improvements after just a few treatment sessions. However, to achieve the most satisfying results, it's best to consider Acoustic Wave Therapy as part of a longer treatment course. Over time, you'll see continuous improvement, with the most significant changes occurring after a specifically tailored series of treatments.
How Many Treatments Are Necessary?
The number of treatments required varies depending on your individual goals and needs. Factors such as your unique circumstances play a role in creating a personalised treatment plan. On average, most patients undergo around eight treatments to achieve their desired outcomes. During your initial, commitment-free consultation, we will work closely with you to create a customised plan. Progress will be monitored during reviews and subsequent sessions.
Is There Any Downtime?
Fortunately, there's no downtime with Shockwave Therapy. This non-invasive procedure allows you to return to your regular activities immediately after treatment, with minimal to no side effects.
Does It Cause Discomfort?
Shockwave Therapy is generally not painful, although it may cause slight discomfort during certain applications. Some patients liken it to a soothing massage.
Is There an Age Limit?
Yes, all patients must be aged 18 or older.
Are There Any Contraindications?
Like most procedures, there are certain contraindications to consider. These include severe edema, thrombosis, blood clotting disorders, cancer, pregnancy, severe and acute skin diseases, recent cortisone therapies, and the presence of a pacemaker. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you require further information or clarification on these contraindications. Your well-being is our priority.
Can I have treatment if I've had other cosmetic procedures?
Yes, you can receive treatment soon after. We recommend 4 weeks after botox injections and even sooner after a procedure to insert fillers. However each case is unique and we recommend speaking to one of our clinicians.
